# Site details

A site's home page: its client assignment, name, Managed status, and address, plus its photo gallery and a live list of the equipment installed there. Note the asymmetry with equipment: Field Techs can edit equipment records but **not** sites — site details are admin territory, so the form controls are disabled for everyone else.

The header offers **All Sites** (back to the list), **View Client**, and the site report. Status badges show at the top: yellow *Unassigned*, green *Managed*, or gray *Unmanaged*.

## Edit the site (admins)

1. Change the **Client** assignment — this is where an unassigned site from the field gets attached to its client.
2. Adjust the **Site Name** (required) and **Address**.
3. Flip the **Managed** switch when your company formally takes on managing this site. New sites always start Unmanaged.
4. Save — you'll see *"Site updated."*

## Site images

The images card has its own uploader, separate from the main form — add one or more **JPG, PNG, or WEBP** photos of the site. Upload feedback appears on this card independently, so an image problem never blocks a site-details save.

## Equipment at this site

An expandable section lists everything installed at the site, with a count badge and a sortable table. Each entry links to its [equipment detail page](equipment-details.md), with *Managed* / *Retired* badges inline. **Add Equipment** starts a new equipment record pre-assigned to this site — the natural flow when walking a site in the field.

## Troubleshooting

**"Site name is required."**
:   The name can't be blank — restore or correct it and save again.

**"No images were selected."** / **"No valid images were uploaded. Allowed types: JPG, PNG, WEBP."**
:   The image form was submitted empty, or the files weren't an accepted type. Pick JPG/PNG/WEBP files and retry.

**"Site not found."**
:   The site behind your link no longer exists (or belongs to another tenant). Return to [Manage sites](manage-sites.md) and work from the current list.

**The form is grayed out for me.**
:   You're signed in as a Field Tech or Viewer — this page is read-only for those roles. Ask an admin to make the change.
