# Import IR images

The daily infrared workflow: upload the ZIP straight from the FLIR camera, and NorthGrid analyzes every image, matches each FLIR number to the equipment record that claims it, and walks you through anything that needs a human decision — before a single image is imported.

## Step 1 — Upload & Analyze

1. Select the **ZIP File** — one ZIP of `FLIR*.jpg` images from the camera. Images can sit at the ZIP root or inside subfolders (e.g. `Panel Room/FLIR1234.jpg`); the maximum upload size is shown under the field.
2. Set the **Inspection Date** — the date the infrared inspection was performed. It's printed on the report, so set it when importing a previous day's ZIP.
3. Select **Upload & Analyze**. A progress bar tracks the upload, then the analysis report renders.

Nothing is imported yet — analysis is a dry run.

## Step 2 — Review the analysis

The results split into up to four sections:

**Matched Images** *(green)* — FLIR numbers that matched exactly one equipment record. These are ready; no action needed.

**Conflicts — Images Already Assigned** *(yellow)* — FLIR numbers that were already processed in a previous import. Decide per image: **Overwrite** (the default) replaces the existing image, **Skip** leaves the earlier one in place.

**Unmatched — Quarantine** *(gray)* — no equipment record claimed these FLIR numbers. You have two options:

- Use the assignment bar — pick a **Client**, then a **Site**, then **Apply to Unassigned** — to link them now, or
- leave them blank to **hold them in quarantine**, where they can be assigned to equipment later. Unmatched images are never lost.

**ZIP Internal Conflicts — Not Imported** *(red)* — the same FLIR number appeared in two different folders inside the ZIP, so NorthGrid can't know which is correct. These are excluded from the import entirely; fix the ZIP contents and re-import those numbers.

## Step 3 — Confirm & Import

Select **Confirm & Import**. The button shows *Importing…* while it runs, then a final summary reports how many images were imported, skipped, and quarantined — with a link to a **saved HTML report** of the run you can keep for the job file.

## Troubleshooting

**My ZIP won't upload / fails immediately.**
: Check it's a `.zip` (not a folder or another archive type) and under the size limit shown on the upload card. Very large days may need splitting into two ZIPs.

**Everything landed in Unmatched.**
: The equipment records for that site probably don't have their FLIR numbers entered yet — matching is driven by the FLIR number each record claims. Assign the images to the client/site via the quarantine bar now, or enter the FLIR numbers on the equipment and re-run.

**I chose Overwrite on the wrong image.**
: The replaced image was removed from the record; check the Dashboard's **Removed Files — Pending Review** queue, where an admin may be able to **Restore** it. Otherwise, re-import the correct image from the original ZIP.

**Same FLIR number keeps showing as a ZIP internal conflict.**
: Two copies of that number exist in different folders inside the ZIP. Delete or rename the wrong copy in the ZIP and upload again.
